Middletown Police Make Four Drug and Alcohol Arrests This Holiday

The following arrests were reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


John Giordan, 45, of 39 Holman St. Portsmouth
was arrested on Dec. 24 around 1:42 a.m. on a driving under the influence charge.  Police said he was pulled over after he swerved on West Main Road, drove through the left turn lane near the Hess Gas Station and then continued to swerve across the road.

He failed the field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Police said on the way to the Middletown Police Station, Giordan spat out his wad of chewing tobacco on the floor of the cruiser.   In addition to the DUI charge, he was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test,a laned roadway violation, operating left of the center of the road, failure to use a turn signal and failure to turn on his interior light during a police stop.

Kiana Mendes, 27, of 2 Weaver St. Apt. #322,  Fall River was arrested on Dec. 22, around 3:16 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. Police pulled over her vehicle for speeding on West Main Road.

Adam Gendreau, 30, of 171 Woodland Cir., Tiverton, was arrested on Dec. 21 around 10:32 p.m. on a second offense driving under the influence charge and a felony possession of marijuana charge.  

Police said he was pulled over because he was following a car too closely and he swerved across East Main Road.  Police said his speech was slurred, he smelled of alcohol and there was an open case of Budweiser on the floor.  He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested.  Police said a plastic baggie containing several small buds of marijuana was found in his vehicle.  

Gendreau was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, following too closely and roadway violations.


Sharon Olson, 66, of 21 Berkeley Ave., was arrested on Dec. 20 at 10:20 p.m. on a first offense driving under the influence charge after she allegedly backed into a parked vehicle at the Atlantic Beach Club.  A witness said Olson became argumentative when asked if she was hurt.

Police said when they arrived, Olson was “indignant”  and uncooperative.  Police said she refused to take field sobriety tests and was arrested.  She was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test.  


Jessuem Nevarez, 30, of 24 Gould St. Apt. #2 was arrested on Dec. 20 at 7:40 p.m on a bench warrant charge.
