Middletown to Promote Female Fire Captain

[Editor's Note, Monday Nov. 18, 9 a.m:  We incorrectly reported that Middletown will promote the first female fire captain in the state.  Providence, North Smithfield, Watch Hill Departments reported they promoted a female fire captains.]

Female Firefighter to Be Promoted to Fire Captain 

A promotional ceremony for Firefighter Rebbeca Fisher will be held at the Middletown Town Council meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at Middletown Town Hall. Fisher is one of the first female firefighters to be promoted to Captain in the state of Rhode Island. Check back on Patch to see photos from the event.

 

Public Forum on Sustainable Events

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., the Newport Energy and Environment Commission will host a free public forum sustainable event protocols for Newport events.  Several speakers and case studies will be featured, including the Atlantic Cup, newportFILM, and Clean Water Action will be reporting on the Newport Folk & Jazz Festivals.  Read more here. 

 

Newport Photo Guild November Meeting

The Newport Photo Guild will hold it’s November meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Newport Art Museum. Read more here. 

 

The Santa Express

The Newport Dinner Train will host a special Christmas train ride, “The Santa Express” this Friday at 6:30 p.m Read more here.
