Funding a college education is no easy task, but for Portsmouth marks-woman Libby Mostert, it was as simple as shooting a rifle.Â
Mostert, 18, who graduated Friday evening from Portsmouth High School, won a $300,000 scholarship to the West Point military academy.Â
A rifle shooter since seventh grade, Mostert will attend the prestigious military academy starting this fall. She was also recruited to the academy's rifle team.Â

Col. John Vickers awarded the $300,000 scholarship during Monday's Senior Awards Nigh at Portsmouth High School.Â
Mostert was introduced to the sport by her great-uncle. She has been a member of the Newport Rifle Club for several years, winning numerous awards.Â
