Veteran Middletown Police Officer Arrested
Lt. Richard Gamache was arraigned Monday on fraud and computer fraud charges, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, RI— Lt. Richard Gamache was arrested Sunday at his home, police said. He faces "multiple charges of computer fraud and fraud," Lt. Jason Ryan said. Gamache was arraigned Monday in Newport District Court and released on personal recognizance. He is due back in court May 17.
Gamache is an 18-year veteran with Middletown police. He was arrested last fall on a Domestic assault charge. It was dismissed this January when the only witness did not show up in court.
"In accordance with the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights, the department will have no further comment regarding the arrest," Ryan said.
