Business after hours, URI-style. There is a business after hours at the Ryan Center at 5 p.m. Admission is $5.

“Acting is all about big hair and funny props. All the great actors knew it. Olivier knew it, Brando knew it.” – Harold ‘Egon from Ghostbusters’ Ramis. The Contemporary Theater Company hosts acting lessons at 5 p.m. The cost is $10.

“From even the greatest of horrors irony is seldom absent.” – H.P. Lovecraft. Here’s the scary stuff going on today:

  • The Haunted Courthouse takes over the Courthouse Center for the Arts at 6 p.m. Admission is $10. This is followed by Dracula at 8 p.m., which costs $25.
  • At 7 p.m. at the Kingston Free Library is the Tillinghast Nightmare. The event is free.

“There is no distinctly native American criminal class… Save Congress.” – Mark Twain. Here are today’s government meetings:

  • The Narragansett Pension Board meets at 9 a.m. at town hall.
  • The South Kingstown Zoning Board of Review meets at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
  • The Narragansett School Committee meets at 7 p.m. at town hall.

Expect delays on Route 138 in North Kingstown on Thursday. According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, Route 138 eastbound and westbound, at the Route 1A exit, will have construction work on the right shoulder from 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren.
