5 THINGS: It’s Tuesday, a.k.a. Fake Monday
Whenever you're working on a Tuesday after a Monday holiday, you have to remind yourself that it's actually Tuesday. (And let's not get started on the other days of the week.)

Here are the Five Things for Tuesday, February 21, 2012:
Picking up where Flipper left off. Today at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, they’re showing Dolphin Tale at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The movie is PG and runs for about 113 minutes, so it’s a pretty smart place to take the kids on the vacation week, hint hint. The movie has a rating of 6.5 out of 10 on IMDB, which isn’t too shabby for a kid’s flick, and stars Ashley Judd, Morgan “Red” Freeman and Harry Connick Jr.
Blog, blog, blog. Here at Narragansett Patch, we’re always looking for bloggers – Frankly, my cat hasn’t been that prolific of a writer lately. If you’re interested, shoot us an e-mail at Stephen.greenwell@patch.com or Narragansett@patch.com. You can write about any topic you’d like (as long as you’re a Narragansett resident), from politics to movie reviews to about how Cindy thinks she can park but she really can’t and Roger is totally more into you than Cindy.

Sign up for FREE Everbridge alert notifications! In case you are unawares – and many of you are – the town has a free phone and computer alert system for things like power outages, parking bans and other issues. You can click the “Citizen Alert” button on the left of the town’s website, or if you’re feeling lazy, just click here. Narragansett Police Dispatcher Chris McGrath and Narragansett Fire Chief James Cotter are trying to get the word out about this and other EMS services in the coming weeks. While all of the town’s landlines are automatically included in the Everbridge system, you have to opt in if you have a cell phone, like every other adult human being nowadays.

- Narragansett boys’ basketball (10-11, 8-9 Division II-South) travels to West Warwick High School for a 7 p.m. game with the first-place Wizards (20-2, 16-1 Division II-South). Junior varsity is at 5:15 p.m. The boys’ team upset Westerly (15-7, 12-5 Division II-South) last week at home on a buzzer-beating 3-point shot by Mark Griffith to clinch a seed in the state tournament. For a box score from The Providence Journal on the game, which mentions the game-winning 3 by Kark Griffith, click here. The Mariners currently have the No. 28 seed, edging out Tolman thanks to a head-to-head win. The top 32 teams with a minimum winning percentage of .400 qualify for the state tournament.
- Prout boys’ basketball (19-3, 16-1 Division III-South) hosts Mt. Hope (6-15, 5-12 Division III-South) at 7 p.m. Junior varsity is at 5:15 p.m. The Crusaders currently have the No. 11 seed, but they have no chance of moving up past No. 10 Rogers. However, the Crusaders could slip as far as No. 13, depending how Westerly and Classical finish.
- According to The Providence Journal, the Narragansett boys’ hockey team (1-16, 0-16 Division II-South) almost won on Monday, but lost 6-5 to the Rogers, Tiverton and Rocky Hill co-op (5-11-1, 5-10-1 Division II-South). A box score was unavailable, and the score has not yet been posted on the RIIL website.
- The Prout School boys’ hockey team (13-3-2, 12-3-2 Division II-South) lost 5-4 to Middletown (12-4-3, 11-3-3) on Monday.
Happy birthday Ellen Page! Hey, you’ll always have Inception and Juno to hang your hat on, Ms. Page. We will remember those, and not those Cisco commercials you did. (By the way, that’s the only good one.)
