5 THINGS: Little League, and No Life on Mars(?)

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, February 19, 2013:

Register for South Kingstown Little League or Softball! Yes, it’s time for the nation’s pastime – opening day is just around the corner. For baseball registration info, click here. For softball, click here.

“There are always going to be people who want to be president, and some days I’d like to give it to them.” – Bill Clinton. Here are today’s government meetings:

• The Narragansett Town Council has a work session about Hurricane Sandy repairs at 6:30 p.m. This is followed by a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.
• The South Kingstown Recreation Commission meets at 7 p.m.
• The South Kingstown Town Council and Planning Board have a work session at 7 p.m.
• The Narragansett Towers Committee meets at 7 p.m.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Mexico's Armed Forces Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. Unfortunately, it dispelled some of the initial musings of Dr. Bowie. On this day in 2002, NASA’s Mars Odyssey began to map the surface of Mars. It did not find “Life on Mars,” or Life on Mars.
