5 THINGS: My Mom's Birthday and Fireworks!
It's probably not a coincidence that there are a lot fireworks today – I guess there is some sort of holiday tomorrow...

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, July 3, 2012:
As a wise man once said, “Party all the time, party all the time, party all the time.” There is an Independence Day Beach Party at Narragansett Town Beach from noon to 9 p.m. The 88th Army Band will play at 5 p.m. at the North Beach Clubhouse, followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Good times, good times! Fireworks Katy Perry could be proud of. We will have a full list of firework spots later today, but there are two good sites today outside of the town beach ones above. Block Island will have with Narragansett at 9 p.m. at Crescent Beach, and if you want to visit the granddaddy of them all, Bristol has a at 9:30 p.m.

Fresh produce! The Marina Park runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.
Blogging, events, letters, what more could you want? Many people often ask me, “Hey are you the Patch guy?” And the answer is yes, yes I am. Then, most often they want to know how they can get things on the site. Let me present you with three options:
-
The easiest way for me is if you use our blog form. If you have a user account, congrats! You can submit directly to our queue by going here. For more info on blogging, go here.
-
If you think your item is more appropriate for the events calendar, that's a simple enough process as well. Go here, and then hit the “Add An Event” button at the bottom of the page. (Note: You might want to search for your event first, since we do have a calendar editor that adds things on her own awesome initiative.)
-
Finally, do you need some input before posting? Or do you have a release that is more of a traditional “letter to the editor” thing? Fine then – send it along to me, either at stephen.greenwell@patch.com or narragansett@patch.com.
I would like to receive your periodical on a full-time daily basis. If that's the case, then you can get it in your e-mail box, bright and early each morning, by going here.
Happy birthday mom! It's my mom's birthday today, so if you see her, say happy birthday.
