5 THINGS: Uncommon Common Events, And Common

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, March 13, 2012:

Free taxes! Do you make less than $49,000 a year? If so, you could be eligible for at the Education Exchange in Peace Dale. Sessions are available until April 12, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Call (401) 783-0293 to schedule an appointment.

The Ides of March in March. Maury Loontjens Memorial Library will be showing The Ides of March, starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. today. It’s a movie all about dirty politics, rated R, with a 7.3 rating on IMDB. So basically, leave the kids at home, since they won’t get what’s going on anyway.

Something more appropriate for the kids! In contrast, feel free to take the kids to at the Kingston Free Library. Drop-ins are welcome, but please register ahead of time if you can. The fun runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

• The South Kingstown Planning Board at 7 p.m. at town hall.
• The South Kingstown School Committee at 7:30 p.m. at the high school.
• The Narragansett Historic District Commission will from 6 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m. in the large board room of town hall.
• The Narragansett Special Education Parent Advisory Committee will at 7 p.m. in the media center of the Pier Middle School.
• Staffers from the office of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse will be at the Peace Dale Library from about 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more info, click .

Happy 39^th, Common! It is indeed Common’s birthday today. He can read poetry at my apartment anytime, and we can talk about how he needs to stop making bad movies.
