5 THINGS: Victory Day!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Monday, August 13, 2012:

Hey it’s a holiday! Today is Victory Day, an official Rhode Island holiday. As a result, most government buildings and libraries are closed as a result. When in doubt about whether something is open or closed, might I recommend calling them? You can find numbers via our directory.

Pick-up ball. There is for adults 35+ at Peace Dale Elementary School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $5.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Starting in early September, we’re going to be phasing out the adding of new calendar events by our staff. This means that if you’re from a group or organization, you’ll have to start doing them yourself. It’s pretty simple, though! While logged into your Patch account, just go here. Adding your event ensures it’ll show up in searches, and be eligible for me to give it shout-outs in Five Things.
