5 THINGS: Winnie Cooper and Rotaries

It's almost the end of a short work week – don't waste it! Five Things!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, January 3, 2013:

This still has nothing to do with telephones, just good people doing good things. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at 12:15 p.m. at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant. They meet every Thursday, so if you can’t make it this week, have no fear!

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s the Tamaseseri Festival. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

Can you hear me now? … Good! On this day in 1996, the Motorola StarTAC, one of the first popular flip phones, debuted.

Oh Winnie Cooper <3 Happy 38th birthday to Danica McKellar! After The Wonder Years, she’s had a second career as a writer for math books and other science texts for girls. No, seriously.
