5 THINGS: You Again, Weather Again and Rotary Again

Shake off that haze from the Fourth and fireworks with these events.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Thursday, July 5, 2012:

It's not quite Alien, but it's close! The South Kingstown Senior Center is hosting a showing of You Again, a “rivals make nice” movie staring Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney “Ripley” Weaver. The movie starts at 1 p.m.

Note: Not about old phones. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. today. For more information, click .

It's an OK weather day. I mean, it's about 6 a.m., and we're already into the low-70s... And it'll probably get up to the high 80s with lots of humidity... But at least it's not crazy-go-nuts hot.

  • The easiest way for me is if you use our blog form. If you have a user account, congrats! You can submit directly to our queue by going here. For more info on blogging, go here.
  • If you think your item is more appropriate for the events calendar, that's a simple enough process as well. Go here, and then hit the “Add An Event” button at the bottom of the page. (Note: You might want to search for your event first, since we do have a calendar editor that adds things on her own awesome initiative.)
  • Finally, do you need some input before posting? Or do you have a release that is more of a traditional “letter to the editor” thing? Fine then – send it along to me, either at stephen.greenwell@patch.com or narragansett@patch.com.

I would like to receive your periodical on a full-time daily basis. If that's the case, then you can get it in your e-mail box, bright and early each morning, by going here.

I don't like spam!” On this day in 1937, Spam was introduced to the market. For Monty Python's take on this, go here.

Still square, still hip. Happy 62nd birthday to Huey Lewis! In his honor, go watch Back To The Future or something.
