Fall Baseball, Gansett Boys’ Soccer Starting

Join the staff of the Rhode Island Rebels, the area’s elite travel baseball program, on Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Bomb Squad Baseball Company to learn about the full slate of baseball programs offered this fall.

Informational sessions and registration will be held at the Bomb Squad, 1174 Kingstown Rd, Wakefield, at the following date and times:

• Thursday, August 16, 6 p.m. – 13u / 14u  
• Thursday, August 16, 7:30 p.m. – High School

The Rebels fall programs including the following:

13U Program - Coached by former URI assistant Steve Breitbach, this program is designed to introduce players who have completed Little League to the game on the regulation field.  Players will be introduced to rule changes on the larger field, such as taking leads, pitching from the stretch, etc. Team will play double-headers every weekend as part of the Rhode Island Fall Baseball League

14U Program - This program will be directed by veteran coach Joe Vigeant (CCRI, Cranston East) and Angelo St. Laurent (Senerchia Legion, Bishop Hendricken).  The program is designed to provide players who have already played a season or more on the large diamond the opportunity to play doubleheaders against teams from throughout the state.

High School Program (9^th - 12^th Grade)

Under Class Program (9^th - 10^th Grade): This team, which will be coached by former URI standout Jamie Degidio, along with Atlanta Braves minor league catcher Shawn McGill, will play doubleheaders on Sundays against In the Zone, Providence Leadership, New England Prospects and additional programs.

Upper Class Program (11^th-12^th Grade): Recent AIC graduate and former Rebel Dennis Duffy with head this program, along with Rebels coach Chris Ursillo and founder Phil Davidson (North Carolina State).  The team will play doubleheaders on Sundays against In the Zone, New England Prospects, Providence Sports and Leadership and the NP Gators.

Practices for all of the Rebels fall programs will be held at the Bomb Squad Baseball Company.

Boys’ soccer tryouts for the 2012 fall soccer season will begin on Aug. 20 at 7:30 a.m. Any student interested in trying out for the soccer team must complete all necessary forms prior to August 20th. Any incomplete forms will delay the start of your tryout.  Feel free to hand in any forms at the High School Office ahead of time.  . 

PLEASE NOTE: There is a higher demand for signups this year. That being said there is a good chance that if numbers are high at tryouts that we may institute a three day tryout and make cuts on the third day.

All forms can be found on the Narragansett High School website.

3.     Proof of Physical dated after November 2011 or within the calendar year

Please Note:  Those players whose physicals are up in September or October must submit copies of their last years physical and submit an updated physical for this fall once a physical is performed.

a.    A doctor’s note dated after 11/2011, stating that you are able to participate in sports is acceptable.
