Flash Flood Warning in Effect for South County
There already is some street flooding, so tread carefully and don't drive if you don't have to.
If you can stay home, do so, as roads in South County are flooding thanks to two inches of rain from this rollicking thunderstorm in the past hour.
The rain total for South Kingstown is more than two inches, with 1.75” falling in a 30-minute span, and that only accounts up to 7:24 p.m. A flash food warning is in effect until about 8:30 p.m. If you still have things that need to be secured outside, do so, but be careful, since the heavy rains are accompanied by thunder and lightning.
From reader Stacey Greene Bodziony, Pond Street is flooded at the Route 1 underpass as of about 7:50 p.m.
