Girl Scouts Celebrate Past, Donate and Sell Cookies
The Girl Scouts donate 130 boxes of cookies to a local food pantry. Speaking of cookies, they're on sale at various spots this weekend.
On March 10, Girl Scouts from South Kingstown and Narragansett gathered at St. Francis Church in Wakefield to celebrate the Girl Scout Centennial.
Girl Scouts of all age levels enjoyed this Centennial Patch workshop, which began with a panel of Girl Scout alumnae sharing their experiences. The day concluded with a fashion show of Girl Scouts modeling uniforms from the past and a hootenanny, in which the scouts, volunteers, parents, and alumnae sang favorite camp songs together.
Girl Scouts of all ages ate camp food, studied the history of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, communicated using semaphore flags, challenged their memories by playing Kim's game, and visited a Girl Scout museum of past handbooks, uniforms, posters and other memorabilia.

They designed Girl Scout uniforms for the year 2062, which will mark the 150th anniversary of Girl Scouts. They also screened The Golden Eaglet, a Girl Scout recruiting film from 1919.
Girl Scout Cadette Troop 661 demonstrated how to make a bedroll for camping, as well as mini bedroll SWAPS (Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere).

Girl Scout Ambassador Troop 554 shared pictures and stories from their 2009 trip to Savannah, Georgia, the birthplace and home town of Girl Scout Founder Juliette Gordon Low, and the site of the first Girl Scout meeting at her home on March 12, 1912.
Troop 80 Donates 130 Boxes of Cookies
Narragansett Brownie Troop 80 donated 130 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to St. Peter's Food Pantry in Narragansett to commemorate the Girl Scout Centennial. On March 1, the troop stocked the food pantry.
The girls in Troop 80 are Hannah Lambert, Delia Michailides, Sasha Tobin, Katrina Potkul, Olivia Lonkart, Lindsay Moricas, Brooklyn Aguirre-Bates, Riley Ashworth, Bella Matarese, Sindey Gillis, Lily Santa, Ava Orabona, Ella Robinson, Eleanor Langlois, Abby Smith, Rylie Wallace, Livy Waranis, Isabella McElroy and Nyasia Price.
For their efforts throughout town, the Narragansett Town Council honored several troops on March 5.

- On Saturday, March 24, Girl Scouts from Troop 185 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Shaw's, 160 Old Tower Hill Road, Wakefield, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- On Saturday, March 24, Girl Scouts from Troop 623 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Stop & Shop, 91 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- On Saturday, March 24, Girl Scouts from Troop 641 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Belmont Market, 600 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- On Sunday, March 25, Girl Scouts from Troop 545 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, 35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- On Sunday, March 25, Girl Scouts from Troop 585 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Belmont Market, 600 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- On Sunday, March 25, Girl Scouts from Troop 860 will sell Girl Scout cookies at Shaw's, 160 Old Tower Hill Road, Wakefield, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
