James P. Posillo, Sr., Veteran and Volunteer Firefighter, Dies at 87

James P. Posillo, a volunteer Peace Dale firefighter and WWII veteran, died on Sunday.

 

James P. Posillo, Sr., 87, died on Sunday, June 9, 2013. He was the husband of the late Charlotte (Bach) Posillo.

Born in South Kingstown he was the son of the late Michele and Theresa (DiSalvo) Posillo. Mr. Posillo was an electrician for the Quonsett Naval Air Station. He was also a WWII Army Veteran; a member of the V.F.W. Post #39, the South Kingstown Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge #1899 and a Peace Dale Volunteer Firefighter.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 am from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
