License, Drunken Driving Arrests Made
An East Greenwich man is charged with drunken driving by Narragansett police. Narragansett police logs from March 9, 2013.

East Greenwich Man Charged With Drunken Driving
Kyle P. Kelaghan, 22, of 139 Kent Drive, East Greenwich, was arrested at about 2:31 a.m. on March 9 and charged with drunken driving, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

According to police, an officer traveling on Boston Neck Road near the Coffee and Bagel Connection saw a silver Honda Civic swerving and drifting. As a result, a traffic stop was made on Bridgetown Road near Lakeside Drive.
Police said that Kelaghan smelled of alcohol, and when asked about his driving, he told them, “I’m just tired man.” He allegedly told police that he “just left Bonnet Shores in East Greenwich.”

According to police, Kelaghan failed field sobriety tests, and registered an alcohol level of .147 on a preliminary breath test. As a result, he was arrested.
Police said that during processing, Kelaghan refused to submit to a chemical breath test. As a result, he was cited.
URI Students Cited for License Violations
- Jacob P. Guilbert, 21, of 28 Yankee Drive, Westerly, was cited at about 1:32 a.m. on March 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer noted a red GMC Sonoma swerving on Point Judith Road near Clarke Road. A traffic stop was made.
Police said that a background check on the driver – Guilbert – revealed that his license was suspended in August 2012 for failing to pay traffic fines.
According to police, Guilbert and a passenger refused a ride from the scene, and said they would walk instead. The Sonoma was towed.
- Cary W. Florio, 21, of 17 Wheeler Ave., Bristol, was cited at about 8:44 p.m. on March 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road near Knowlesway clocked a car at 55 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Sea Lea Drive.
Police said a background check of the driver – Florio – revealed that his license was suspended in September 2012 for failing to pay fines. He was cited for the license violation, and a passenger in the car was given permission to drive it from the scene.
