Man Busted for Pot in Gansett, Heroin in NY

Lonnie Walker, 30, faces felony drug charges in both New York and Rhode Island following a November arrest in Farmingville.

According to a November 2011 report on the Huntington, New York Patch, a man accused of being behind a Narragansett grow operation was arrested after Farmingville police found 140 decks of heroin in his condo.

According to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, Lonnie Walker, 30, was the target of a home invasion plot by Joshua A. Whitfield, 26, of Huntington and Seyquan Patron, 24, of Mastic Beach. An arrest was made thanks to surveillance footage.

However, according to Narragansett police, Walker was also behind a grow operation on Ocean Look Drive in October 2010. For a report on that incident from WPRI, click here. The South County Independent also did a story, which is viewable here.

Eastman pleaded no contest to an amended charge of possession of marijuana on Jan. 25. She was ordered to pay fines. Additional charges of felony conspiracy and felony delivery of a controlled substance were dismissed.

Shirlene Walker’s attorney filed a motion to dismiss the charges against her on Jan. 25. The results of that motion have not yet been filed.

Lonnie Walker was also scheduled for a Jan. 25 hearing, however, he did not appear. It is not clear from online records whether he is currently incarcerated, or if he simply did not show up for the hearing. His lawyer has requested a motion to dismiss hearing on Feb. 17.
