Mariners Out of Football Poll; Top Three Remain The Same

The top three of the Rhode Island Sports Media football poll remains unchanged in Week 4, as La Salle, Cranston West and East Providence all won this past weekend.

Barrington moved up to No. 4, in a tie with Hendricken, thanks to a win against Bishop Feehan of Massachusetts. The Eagles leapfrogged over No. 6 Portsmouth, who lost 26-22 to East Providence.

Central, Tolman, West Warwick and Westerly round out the top 10. All four teams are undefeated in Division II play.

At No. 11, Rogers is the first Division III team. The Vikings moved up a spot in the rankings, despite not playing this week. They take on Narragansett this Saturday.

Mt. Hope improved two spots, from No. 14 to No. 12, after drubbing Toll Gate 38-0. Narragansett dropped from No. 15 to out of the poll, following a 14-13 loss to No. 18 Moses Brown.

Johnston and South Kingstown also dropped following losses to higher ranked teams. Johnston went from No. 13 to No. 15 after losing to Central, and the Rebels plunged four spots into a tie with Johnston after losing to La Salle.
