Narragansett Police Log: August 5 and 6, 2012

Police make some arrests for warrants and expired licenses.

Two Arrested For Warrants Following Traffic Stop

Dana Schofield, 24, of 86 Parkview Boulevard, Cranston, and Ezekiel A. Perrault, 24, of 33 Harris Ave., West Warwick, were arrested at about 1:44 a.m. on Aug. 5. Police said both had Third Division District Court warrants out for their arrest, for suspended license and disorderly conduct offenses.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic near the Route 1 North overpass saw a grey Acura with a defective plate light. A traffic stop was made at the town line.

Police said a background check of the driver – Schofield – revealed a warrant. An additional background check revealed a warrant for Perrault, a passenger in the car.

Both were arrested without incident. A passenger in the car drove it from the scene with Schofield’s permission.

Charlestown Woman Cited For Expired License

Tonya D. Oneschuk, 37, of 253 Biscuit City Road, Charlestown, was cited at about 6 p.m. on Aug. 5 and charged with driving with an expired license.

According to police, they responded to the entrance of the New Dragon restaurant on Point Judith Road after receiving a report of a minor accident.

Police said a background check of Oneschuk revealed that he license expired on May 16, and she was cited for the violation. A passenger with an active license was allowed to drive it from the scene.

According to police, there were no injuries from the accident. Police said that Oneschuk’s car was struck by another car as she attempted to turn left from Point Judith Road into the parking lot of the restaurant. Police noted that they could not determine fault in the accident because both cars were moved, and the damage appeared to be light.

Loud Party on Gardenia Lane

At about 1:11 a.m. on Aug. 6, police received a report of a loud party at 35 Gardenia Lane.

According to police, about 25 to 30 people were at the home, with eight to 10 cars illegally parked nearby. Police noted that the tenants cleared the home quickly and effectively.

The tenants were identified as Jacob M. Petrarca, 22, and Laura M. Afonso, 21. Both signed the public nuisance form, and the party report was forwarded to the Community Police Division.
