According to police, an officer patrolling on Knowlesway saw a gray Hyundai Elantra make a right-hand turn on to Point Judith Road without using a signal. Police also noted that a check of the car’s plates revealed that the registration had expired in August 2011.

Police said the smell of marijuana was emanating from the car. A 24-year-old Narragansett man, who was a passenger in the car, told police that he had recently smoked. He had a small amount of marijuana in his possession, and provided police with a valid medical marijuana patient card.

However, a background check revealed that Phillips’ license had been revoked. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

Phillips was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with a canceled registration. He was released at 10 a.m. with a Fourth Division District Court date of Feb. 14.

Drunk Teen to 52-Year-Old Woman: “Let Me In, I Love You!”

According to police, they received a complaint of a possible trespasser at a Saltaire Avenue home at about 12:53 a.m. on Feb. 2.

A 52-year-old woman told police that knocking on her door awoke her. The woman said that a man was knocking on her porch door and yelling, “Let me in, I love you!” She told the man to leave, and that she was calling police.

The woman told police that he left at that point, jumping into a red Jeep with a black top. The woman said she didn’t know the man, and wanted a no-trespass order issued.

The Jeep was found by police on Point Judith Road near Greenbrier Road, where a traffic stop was made. According to police, the passenger in the Jeep, a 19-year-old man from Wayne, NJ, was “extremely intoxicated” and told them that he had mistaken the woman’s home for another home hosting a party.

Police issued the no-trespass order to the man. Later in the night, while surveying the home for damage, they found a cell phone possibly belonging to the man. It was held by police for safekeeping.
