According to police, they received a report of a car crashing into a home on Highland Avenue. Police said that when they responded to the area, they found a man – Pisker – yelling into his cell phone, saying, “The cops just shined their lights on me! I am going to jail!”

Police noted that the man’s cell phone was on speakerphone, and the man told police his mother was on the phone. The mother allegedly said over the speakerphone, “Don’t take any tests, just don’t take the tests if they ask you,” and “Tell them your mother is advising you to not take any tests.”

According to police, when they asked Pisker if he was injured, he told them, “I just drove my car into that house.” Police said that while speaker with Pisker, he told them that he had just finished serving the sentence from his last DWI arrest three days ago.

Police said that after complaining of neck pain and being evaluated by Narragansett Fire Rescue, Pisker was transported to South County Hospital for treatment.

According to police, based on an examination of the accident scene, it appeared that Pisker did not stop at the intersection of Inez Street and Highland Avenue, went through a row of shrubs and hit the home at a speed fast enough to disable the car completely and to damage the home’s foundation.

Police said that based on Pisker’s condition, he was not asked to submit to field sobriety tests, and at South County Hospital, refused to submit to a chemical test. As a result, he was arrested and charged with drunken driving, and cited for speeding and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

According to police, a background check was performed on Pisker, but could not find a previous arrest for drunken driving in Rhode Island and Connecticut. As a result, he was charged as a first-time offender.

Police said Pisker was discharged from South County Hospital at about 5:30 a.m. He was processed at headquarters and then released at about 10:15 a.m.

Warwick Man Cited for Suspended License

Nicholas M. Haidemenos, 22, of 53 Okinawa Ave., Warwick, was cited at about 8:25 p.m. on Feb. 2 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer traveling behind a black Volkswagen sedan on Point Judith Road near Fisherman’s Memorial Campground noted that the car had an illegal rear plate cover, making the number hard to read. A traffic stop was made near Saltaire Avenue.

Police said a background check revealed that the driver – Haidemenos – had a suspended license. Police said Haidemenos’ license was suspended on Dec. 5 for failing to pay traffic fines.

According to police, Haidemenos was cited on scene, and his license was confiscated. A friend drove the car from the scene.
