According to police, they received the report of the fight at about 1:38 a.m. Police said that when they arrived, six men – two groups of three – were yelling at each other.

Police said those involved in the disturbance blamed the others for the argument. However, police also obtained witness statements from a store clerk and a person waiting in line.

The clerk told police that the two groups began arguing with one another in the store, and the clerk had to ask them to leave. The clerk told police that they could still be heard arguing outside the store from the inside of the store.

The clerk and the person waiting in line both told police that during the argument, Conte took a wooden stick out of the trunk of the Buick. They both said that this caused Selvaggi to take a golf club from his car.

Based on the witness statements, Selvaggi and Conte were charged with disorderly conduct. Police noted that while attempting to interview witnesses, Selvaggi kept trying to argue with the other group, screaming, “What are you looking at?” and “Shut the **** up!”

Two Cited for Fighting at George’s Nightly Closing

Cassandra S. Parmenter, 22, of 296 Veazie St., Providence, and Tara J. Bevans, 25, of 79 Hoxie Road, West Kingstown, were both cited by police at about 12:32 a.m. on July 10 and charged with fighting.

According to police, two officers monitoring the closing of George’s for the note were flagging by a bouncer because of a fight between Parmenter and Bevans.

Police said that based on an interview with a bouncer, Parmenter and Bevans were arguing, which escalated into punches being thrown before they were separated.

They were both cited on scene and allowed to leave.

Narragansett Woman Charged with Computer Trespassing

Marion N. Sanchez, 22, of 354 South Pier Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 12:54 p.m. on July 10 and charged with computer trespassing.

According to police, in early June they received a report of computer fraud from a 26-year-old Tiverton man. He told police that he and Sanchez had recently broken up, and she had left a message on his phone taunting him about his checking account.

The man told police that he had attempted to use his checking account recently and had been hit with an overdraft fee. He initially thought this was just an error by the bank, but after reviewing his account with the bank, he was told that all of the money in his checking account had been shifted to his savings account, causing him to bounce a check.

Police said they called Sanchez and asked her if she moved the money, which she denied doing. When police told her they could trace her IP account from the bank records, she allegedly told police that she had made the transfers.

According to police, they obtained a subpoena for Cox Communications to trace the IP address that accessed the man’s account. Police said they received the results on July 10, and the trace revealed that the account holder that accessed the account was Sanchez.

Police said that Sanchez surrendered herself at headquarters voluntarily, however, they noted that she refused to sign her summons without her lawyer present. She was processed and then released at about 1:30 p.m.
