Narragansett Police Log: July 11, 2012
Police cite a teen for a loud muffler, and also make two domestic arrests.

New York Woman Charged with Domestic Assault, Assault
Kara Rubenfeld, 39, of 20 Valeria Circle, North Salem, NY, was arrested at about 3:58 p.m. on July 11 and charged with domestic assault and assault.

According to police, on July 3 they received a report from a man and a woman about an assault by Rubenfeld on July 2. Police said that the pair accused Rubenfeld of biting one person and hitting another during a custody dispute on Sand Hill Cove Road.
Police said that Rubenfeld could not be found at this time. However, police said she turned herself in to Fourth Division District Court on July 11, where she was arrested, processed and then released.

Smithfield Man Charged with Domestic Disorderly Conduct
Benjamin J. Folsom, 31, of 49 Pleasant View Ave., Smithfield, was arrested at about 4:17 p.m. on July 11 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
According to police, a warrant was out for Folsom’s arrest based on an incident at a Beach Street business on earlier that month. Details of this incident were not included with Folsom’s arrest report.
Police said Folsom turned himself in to police headquarters on July 11. He was processed and then released at about 6 p.m.
South Kingstown Man Cited for Noise Violation
Kyle M. Gallup, 18, of 45 Amos St., South Kingstown, was cited at about 2 a.m. on July 11 and charged with excessive vehicular noise.
According to police, an officer monitoring traffic from the Yankee Plaza on Boston Neck Road observed a Subaru Impreza station wagon with an excessively loud muffler. A traffic stop was made in the 1100-section of Boston Neck Road.
Police said that during the stop, they noticed an aftermarket muffler affixed to the tail pipe. Police said that they asked Gallup if he had been warned for the muffler in the past, and he allegedly told them no.
According to police, a background check revealed that Gallup had been warned on June 18. As a result, he was cited for the muffler and allowed to drive from the scene.
