Narragansett Police Log: July 24 and 25, 2012

Police make two drunken driving arrests, one after an accident on Boston Neck Road near Conanicut Road.

Traffic Accident Leads to Exeter Man Charged With Drunken Driving

Daniel C. Bresnahan, 51, of 72 Wolf Rocks Road, Exeter, was arrested at about 6:35 p.m. on July 25 and charged with drunken driving.

According to police, they received a report of a traffic accident on Boston Neck Road near Conanicut Road. When they arrived, Bresnahan was in a car that had struck a Verizon telephone control box on the side of the road.

Police said that based on multiple witness statements, Bresnahan attempted to make a left-hand turn on to Conanicut from Boston Neck Road and hit the front end of another car in the process. He then lost control of his car, and it went off the road, hitting the telephone control box.

According to police and fire personnel that treated him, Bresnahan smelled of alcohol. He refused to submit to field sobriety tests, and he was arrested as a result.

Bresnahan was transported to South County Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, he consented to a blood test. Results of the test were unavailable at the time of his arrest though.

After receiving treatment, Bresnahan was transported to police headquarters and processed. He told police that he had drank about half a pint of vodka at his home in Bonnet Shores, and he was on his way back to his home in Exeter.

Bresnahan was processed and then released the morning of July 26.

East Providence Man Charged With Domestic Disorderly Conduct

Benjamin Nadrowski, 21, of 81 First St., East Providence, was arrested at about 9:10 p.m. on July 25 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.

According to police, they received a report of a man and a woman fighting at Dunkin’ Donuts on Point Judith Road near the Salt Pond Plaza.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, Nadrowski and his girlfriend were separated already. Nadrowski allegedly told police that he had about 12 beers on Block Island that day, and he had been yelling loudly and hitting the inside his car.

According to police, several witnesses said that Nadrowski and his girlfriend had an argument in the car, and he began to swing at her, although he didn’t make contact. As a result, he was arrested.

Nadrowski was processed and held overnight to be arraigned at Fourth Division District Court the morning of July 26.

Warning: Suspicious Man Taking Pictures of Children

According to police, they received a report of a suspicious man taking pictures of children at the Galilee Beach Club and Salty Brine State Beach.

An employee of the beach club told police that on July 22, a man in his 50s, about 6’2” with grey hair and bowlegged walk, was taking photos of a 6-year-old girl. When confronted by staff, the employee said the man walked away and didn’t provide them with an answer.

According to the employee, the man came back a short time later with a different shirt and continued to walk up and down the beach. The incident was reported on July 25.

Police advised the employee to contact them the next time the man was on the beach. The employee was also told to tell other members of the beach club about the man.

New London Man Charged With Driving With Suspended License

Jordan S. Best, 23, of 266 Colman St., New London, CT, was arrested at about 2:10 a.m. on July 25 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road near Woodruff Avenue saw a car drive up the Route 1 on-ramp, and then attempt to back off of it. A traffic stop was made at the intersection.

Police noted that the car smelled of marijuana, and a background check of the driver – Best – revealed that his Connecticut driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested at this point.

According to police, a search of the car was negative for marijuana. A passenger with an active license drove the car from the scene.

Best was processed at police headquarters and was arraigned at Fourth Division District Court that morning.
