Narragansett Police Log: June 30 and July 1, 2012
Police arrest a student and South Kingstown resident for alleged domestic offenses.

URI Student, SK Resident Charged With Domestic Offenses
Seth A. Wine, 24, of 10 Edwards St., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 1:06 a.m. on June 30 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. Police said Wine is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, they received a 911 hang-up from a home on Birchwood Drive. Police said when they approached the home, Wine was on the front step yelling, “Why the **** are the cops here!”
Police said they were familiar with Wine from numerous past contacts, as well as an issue earlier on June 29.

Police noted that based on interviews, Wine became upset when a familiar was asking him to calm down, caused a disturbance, and then slapped a phone out of the family member’s hands and dislodging it from the wall in the process.
Based on evidence at the scene, Wine was arrested and transported to headquarters. Police said that once Wine was arrested, the family member interviewed became less cooperative.
