Argument in Police HQ Lobby Leads to Arrest
Scott Lucas Manni, 24, of 71 Old Pine Road, Saunderstown, was arrested at about 7:55 p.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with domestic vandalism, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone.
According to police, a dispatcher noticed Manni and the victim, a 21-year-old Narragansett woman, arguing in the lobby. As a result, he notified a patrolman and a sergeant at the station.

Police separated the two and interviewed them separately. The victim told police that she and Manni had met earlier that day in DeChristofaro Park to talk about some issues they had been having. After, he followed her back to her house.
The woman said he refused to leave, and smashed her iPhone and several other things when she threatened to call police. She told police that she then left in her car, going to the police station, where he followed her inside.

According to police, they also received a complaint about Manni’s Jeep. A motorist told them that it was blocking traffic. Police noted that it was parked in the middle of the Trio lot behind the station, as if Manni had left it hastily.
Police said Manni claimed that the victim threw her phone and other things at him. However, he did admit that he followed her to her home and to police headquarters despite her requests not to. He told police that they had fought through the entirety of their relationship, and that he was moving to Texas soon.
Based on the evidence at the victim’s home and their respective statements, police arrested Manni and charged him with domestic vandalism, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. He was arraigned and released later that night, and issued a no-contact order between himself and the victim.
Greenville Woman Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor; 16-Year-Old in Car
Skye E. Senik, 20, of 492 Putnam Pike, Greenville, was cited at about 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.
According to police, an officer saw a car driven by Senik glide through a yellow-red light from Burnside Avenue on to Point Judith Road. A traffic stop was made on Point Judith Road.
Police said Senik’s car smelled of marijuana, but she and the passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Smithfield, denied smoking. A search of the car revealed no marijuana, and police noted that neither girl had pockets on their clothing.
However, a search did reveal a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila and a bottle of Svedka vodka. Senik did not show any signs of intoxication though, police said.
According to police, Senik told them that she was lost while attempting to find the highway to take the 16-year-old home to Smithfield. Police attempted to call the girl’s parents, but got no answer.
Senik was cited for transportation of alcohol by a minor. Lacking anything else to charge her with, she was allowed to leave the scene with the 16-year-old.
Three College Students Cited for Underage Possession of Alcohol
According to police, three college students were cited at about 11:35 p.m. on Sept. 17 for underage possession of alcohol.
They were identified as Boston University student Christopher M. Kiernan, 20, of 14 Maple St., Melrose, MA; UMass Lowell student Brendan P. Bruno, 19, of 47 South Ave., Melrose, MA; and University of Rhode Island student Kyle W. Nolan, 20, of 18 Greene Lane, Narragansett.
According to police, an officer on party patrol near Glocester Road saw three men, later identified as Nolan, Bruno and Kiernan, with alcohol. Police said that between the three men, they confiscated 48 cans of Bud Light beer.
All three were issued citations and allowed to leave the scene.
Wakefield, MA Man Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor
Stephen F. Massaro, 19, of 19 Castle Clare Circle, Wakefield, MA, was cited at about 8:38 p.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.
According to police, an officer traveling on Point Judith Road clocked a blue Subaru Baja driven by Massaro travelling at 60 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made in a gas station parking lot on Point Judith Road.
Police said a brown bag containing a bottle of Captain Morgan’s rum and Three Olives vodka was clearly visible while talking to Massaro. There was a 21-year-old Waterbury, CT man in the car with Massaro, and a 19-year-old Lakeville, MA man.
A background check revealed that he was only 19, and he was cited for transportation of alcohol by a minor. He was warned for speeding.
(A Different) URI Student Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor
Sean R. Tennett, 20, of 33 Sassafras Trail, Narragansett, was cited at about 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Tennett is a University of Rhode Island student.
According to police, an officer monitoring the parking lot of a liquor store on Boston Neck Road saw a man get into a grey Nissan driven by Tennett. The officer noted that the driver had stayed in the car the entire time.
A traffic stop was made on Old Pine Road as a result. According to police, the state database was down, so a background check couldn’t be made, but Tennett’s license had his age as 20.
As a result, he was cited for transportation of alcohol by a minor. The passenger in his car was 21. The alcohol, a 12-pack of Bud Light beer, was confiscated.
North Kingstown Man, URI Student Cited for Alcohol
Caleb S. Heikes, 21, of 211 Butternut Drive, North Kingstown, was cited at about 1:24 a.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with consumption of alcoholic beverages. Police said Heikes is a University of Rhode Island student.
According to police, an officer patrolling Greene Lane saw Heikes standing in front of a home with a can of Coors Light. Police checked his ID, and then cited him.
California Woman Cited for Selling Magazines Door-To-Door After Company Ignores Warning
Pamela L. Wilson, 37, of 1223 W. Roland Curtis Place, Los Angeles, CA, was cited at about 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with solicitation without a permit.
According to police, they received a report of a woman going door-to-door selling magazines on East Shore Drive. When they arrived in the area, they said Wilson approached them and asked if they wanted to buy any magazines.
Police said they asked Wilson who she worked for, and she said Worldwide Readers. Police noted that they had had past contacts with sellers from the company.
On Sept. 1, police notified two salesman that they would need permits, but did not cite them at the time. They also called a supervisor for Worldwide Readers, identified as Abdul K. Cooper, and informed him of the process for permits.
Because of the prior warning, Wilson was cited for selling without a permit. She was given a ride to her car in Galilee. Police noted that several days before, Newport police had also cited Wilson for a similar charge.
Police Break Up Loud Party on Kingstown Road
At about 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 17, police reported breaking up a loud party at 286 Kingstown Road.
According to police, they were about 25 people gathered at the home, with the noise coming from a loud stereo inside and about 10 people on the deck. There were no illegally parked cars, and police said the party was dispersed quickly.
Police identified the tenants as 20-year-olds Nicholas N. Colonese and Eric Higgins, and 21-year-old Benjamin Parkin. All three are University of Rhode Island students. The property owners are James and Rebecca Durkin.
