Gary B. Champlin, 62, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital.

Gary B. Champlin, 62, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved best friend and soul mate of Jill McGuire.
Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Milfred and Pearl B. (Reels) Champlin. For many years before his illness he was employed as a carpenter with Ed Brazil Builders and worked for several years as a caretaker at Mary Carpenters Beach Meadow.
Gary was an avid fisherman, and a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe.

Besides his soul mate Jill, he is survived by his brothers, Eugene O., Douglas W. and Craig A. Champlin; his sisters, Barbara P. Sekator, Virginia L. Perry, Sheila A. Champlin-Levy, Donna M. Maddox and Gail A. Champlin, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Besides his parents he was predeceased in death by his brother Milford “Mickey” Champlin, Sr., and sisters, Shirley M. Christy, Gloria J. Fry and Cynthia G. Champlin.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
