One Dead In Early-Morning Accident in Narragansett

The ID for the 22-year-old South Kingstown man is being held until his family can be notified.

NARRAGANSETT – According to Narragansett Police, a 22-year-old South Kingstown man died in a one-car accident on Foddering Farm Road at about 12:25 a.m. Monday.

Police have withheld an ID for the man, citing the need to notify his family.

According to Narragansett Police Captain William McGovern, they responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident involving a pick-up truck on Foddering Farm Road. The man was treated on scene for serious injuries by Narragansett Fire Department units and transported to South County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident will be studied by the department’s accident reconstruction unit, McGovern said.

It is the second fatal accident in four months in Narragansett. In December, a North Providence woman died in a crash at the intersection of Point Judith Road and Clarke Road. After an accident reconstruction, no criminal charges were filed by police.
