JOHNSTON, RI — Besides stockpiling bottled water, bread and milk, and turning up the heat and charging up the cellphones, the experts recommend taking several other steps to stay safe during the nor'easter. Patch has collected the advice from the Red Cross, the Coast Guard, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. National Grid says it's prepared, but if any wires come down, don't touch them or drive over them. Assume they're live wires and report them and outages at 1-800-465-1212.
