RI State Police Charge Driver With DUI, 4-Year-Old Child In Car
A Connecticut man was accused of drunk driving on Interstate-95 in Richmond, state police said.

RICHMOND, RI — A Connecticut man was accused of drunk driving on Interstate-95 in Richmond, state police said. A 4-year-old was riding in the car at the time he was stopped, police said.
Matthew Chouinard, 35, of Pomfret, was arrested around 8:20 p.m. Sunday on I-95 North. Troopers said he was driving without any lights (headlights or taillights) and was erratic.
He was charged with:
· Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Liquor or Drugs, Second Offense, with a Child Under the Age of Thirteen
· Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test
He also was cited for traffic violations.

The child, who was unharmed, was picked up by relatives. Chouinard was released with a court summons.
