RI Storm Warning: 8-15 Inches Over I-95 Corridor
In a worst case scenario, Newport could pick up 5 inches of snow, but it's the rest of the state that's under a winter storm advisory.

COVENTRY, RI — Wet, heavy snow, bringing more chances for falling trees and downed power lines, is headed for Rhode Island, the National Weather Service said Tuesday. Forecasters released three weather advisories in advance of Wednesday's nor'easter. Coventry and northern Rhode Island are now under a winter storm warning, the National Weather Service announced. Woonsocket and Smithfield could pick up as much as a foot of snow.
East Greenwich, Narragansett and all of Washington County are under a winter storm watch.

Plus, a flood warning has been issued for Westerly.
The storm is expected to blast up the Interstate 95 corridor on Wednesday morning. According to the forecast, the worst of the snow will start in the afternoon. It's possible Newport and Bristol could escape the brunt of it. But in a worst case scenario, Newport could pick up 5 inches of snow.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM WEDNESDAY TO 9 AM EST
THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to
15 inches, with localized amounts up to 18 inches, are
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts and northern Rhode Island.
* WHEN...From 7 AM Wednesday to 9 AM EST Thursday. Heaviest
snow expected Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday morning.
The Wednesday evening rush hour is expected to be significantly
impacted where precipitation is falling as heavy snow.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult where
precipitation remains heavy snow with the potential for 2 to 3
inch per hour snowfall rates. Significant reductions in
visibility are possible. This will be a wet snow...especially
just northwest of the rain/snow line which may result in downed
trees and scattered power outages.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
Turning to East Greenwich, Narragansett, and Washington County, the winter storm watch calls for localized amounts up to 8 inches. But the general forecast is for 2 to 5 inches.
Finally, Westerly is under a flood warning for the Pawcatuck River where minor flooding occurred Monday night.
