SK Police Log: August 3 and 4, 2012

South Kingstown police write up three license violations.

Cranston Man Charged With License Violation

Corey J. Martinez, 39, of 91 Mason Ave., Cranston, was arrested at about 11:38 a.m. on Aug. 4 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, dispatchers received a report of an erratic driver coming into South Kingstown from North Kingstown via Route 1 South. A traffic stop of the suspect vehicle was made near the government center on Route 1.

Police said that the passenger in the car admitted that he had been driving erratically a moment earlier because he was sleepy. However, police said that the new driver – Martinez – had a suspended license. He was arrested without incident.

North Kingstown Man Charged With Driving With Suspended License

Mathew M. Boyle, 41, of 123 West Allenton, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 8:55 a.m. on Aug. 3 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Tower Hill Road near Old Tower Hill Road clocked a car driven by Boyle at 54 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made in the 500-section of Route 1.

Police said a background check of Boyle revealed that his license was suspended on July 18 for refusing to submit to a chemical test. He was arrested and transported to Fourth Division District Court was arraignment at about 10:35 a.m.

Providence Man Charged With License Violation

John E. Parker, 57, of 497 Hartford Ave., Providence, was arrested at about 6:06 p.m. on Aug. 4 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic near the South County Commons saw a red Dodge Intrepid with a tinted license plate cover. A traffic stop was made as a result.

A background check of the driver – Parker – revealed that his license was suspended. He was arrested without incident, processed at headquarters and then released at about 9:45 p.m.
