SK Police Log: August 6, 2012
A Richmond man allegedly tells police that he's not going to lie about his drunken driving.

Richmond Man Not Going To Lie, And Charged With Drunken Driving
David W. Webb, 48, of 290 Carolina Nooseneck Road, Richmond, was arrested at about 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 6 and charged with drunken driving and driving with an expired license, and cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

According to police, an officer driving on Kingstown Road saw a black Hyundai swerving, crossing into oncoming traffic briefly. A traffic stop was made nearby as a result.
Police said that the driver – Webb – told them that he had swerved because he was trying to make a phone call. Police noted that Webb smelled strongly of alcohol.

According to police, Webb consented to field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was then arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.
Police noted that during the field sobriety tests, Webb told them, “I’m going to be honest, I’m drunk. I won’t lie to ya.” It was at this point that the tests were stopped and Webb was arrested.
According to police, Webb refused to submit to a chemical test. A background check also revealed that his license was expired. He was processed and then released to the custody of a family member at about 9:15 p.m.
South Kingstown Man Charged With Felony Domestic Assault
Mason J. Everett, 33, of 212 High St., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 10:55 a.m. on Aug. 6 and charged with domestic assault. The charge was elevated to a felony because it is Everett’s third offense. Police also noted that Everett had two Fourth Division District Court warrants out for his arrest.
According to police, Everett was arrested by Narragansett police earlier that day. He was then transferred to South Kingstown police headquarters for processing.
A report of the alleged initial assault, which occurred on May 20, was unavailable.
South Kingstown Man Charged With Being Fugitive From Justice
Joshua Doucet, 32, of 3661 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 and charged with being a fugitive from justice.
According to police, they received a call from a parole officer asking them to check a construction site on Saugatucket Road for Doucet. Police found Doucet at the site, and he was arrested without incident. He was held overnight for arraignment the next morning.
