According to police, three separate and escalating incidents led to Lewis’ arrest. Police said they first responded to an apartment on Church Street at about 10:12 a.m. to break up an argument, and at that point, Lewis said he would leave and take a bus to Providence.
However, police said at about 12:22 p.m., staff at Honey Dew Donuts called to report Lewis for harassment. A staffer told police that he was sleeping in a booth, and when he was woken up and told to leave the store, he called the staffer a slut.

As a result, police were called. Police told Lewis he had to leave the store, and he allegedly told them, “I understand sir, I am getting on the next bus to Providence.” Police said they drove Lewis to a bus stop near Liberty Rentals.
However, police were again called at about 1:12 p.m., as staff said Lewis was trying to enter the store again. Police said when they arrived, Lewis had left, but they found him at a nearby business.
According to police, when officers exited their car, Lewis immediately took a boxing stance. When police attempted to arrest him, he allegedly said, “That n***** hit me!”
Police said that while they arrested Lewis, he yelled, “Are you the police for the n****** in Peacedale?” Police noted that Lewis would refuse to calm down to be properly processed, and he had to be put into the padded cell block for his own protection.
According to police, Lewis was finally processed and then released at about 10:30 p.m.

According to police, because of recent problems with security in the neighborhood of Wakefield Elementary School, they were doing a building check.
Police said they found the boy in an alcove of the school, and he appeared to be nervous. Police noted that there were two backpacks by the boy, and when asked about them, the boy allegedly said, “I don’t want you to look inside my backpacks.”
Police searched the backpacks and found two bags of marijuana, a scale, plastic baggies, a marijuana grinder, a pipe, rolling papers, five Narragansett Lager beers, six Rolling Rock Extra Pale beers and one bottle of Castillo Gold Rum. All the items were confiscated.
The boy was arrested, transported to headquarters for processing and then driven to his mother’s house at 10:33 p.m.
