SK Police Log: June 28, 2012

South Kingstown police made arrests on charges of domestic assault and trespassing on June 28.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Domestic Assault

Brian James Wilson, 36, of 3674 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:40 a.m. on June 28 and charged with domestic simple assault.

According to police, they received a report of a disturbance at Wilson’s home. The victim told police that the two got into an argument about Wilson’s drinking, during which he spit on her and grabbed her wrists, and she attempted to fight Wilson off.

Wilson allegedly told police he had been drinking, and showed police scratches from where the victim had allegedly fought him off.

After reviewing evidence, Wilson was arrested and charged with domestic simple assault. He was processed and held until he could be arraigned at Fourth Division District Court later that day.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Trespassing

Elliot Jackson, 18, of 84 Whitford St., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 11:24 p.m. on June 28 and charged with trespassing.

According to police, they received several calls about a young man, shirtless and in jean shorts, going into houses in the neighborhood of Smith Street and Hunt Avenue.

Police said they found a man matching the description – Jackson – in the nearby area. He was arrested without incident, and the witnesses positively identified him as the trespasser, police said.

Jackson was processed without incident and released at about 5:51 a.m. on June 29.
