SK Teens Charged With Marijuana Growing

Aaron Duggan and Blue Ellis Briden, both 18, are charged after police find marijuana plants on Waites Corner Road.

Aaron Duggan, 18, of 106 Waites Corner Road, South Kingstown, and Blue Ellis Briden, 18, of 23 Waites Corner Road, South Kingstown, were arrested at about 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and charged with felony drug manufacturing.

According to police, a witness led them to several marijuana plants that were growing on the turf field lots of Waites Corner Road. Police said that while examining the plants, Duggan and Briden were nearby and immediately tried to flee.

Police said both were later found in the turf field, lying in the bushes in an attempt to hide. Briden and Duggan allegedly told police that they were trying to hide, and Briden told police the plants were the possession of the two.

According to police, the two told them that they were in the area because they thought someone had stolen a plant. Police confiscated and destroyed nine plants.

Both were transported to headquarters for processing and then released at about 8:51 p.m.

Briden and Duggan are scheduled for felony screening on Sept. 11. Neither have prior arrests as adults according to the online court database.
