South County Lawmakers Collect 425 Pajama Sets For Foster Kids
Along with the pajamas, dozens of books were collected, along with duffel bags, gloves and mittens, pillows and toys.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Rhode Island lawmakers collected hundreds of sets of pajamas to donate to kids in need this holiday season. Rep. Julie Casimiro and Sen. Alana DiMario donated more than 425 sets of pajamas to Foster Forward, an organization that supports children under the state's care.
"In the spirit of the season of giving, we hoped many Rhode Islanders would join us in helping and supporting our youth in foster care and we are very grateful to report that our calls were answered," Casimiro said. "This time of year is especially hard for these children who have already gone through so much and Rhode Islanders truly came together to brighten their spirits and provide them with the items they need to have a good holiday season."
The donation drive started Nov. 1, with donations coming from within the State House and from the surrounding comminute. Megan Cotter, the chair of the Exeter Democratic Town Committee, helped run the drive. Along with the pajamas, dozens of books were collected, along with duffel bags, gloves and mittens, pillows and toys, all to benefit foster children.

"Thank you to all those who participated and for letting the children in foster care know that they are not forgotten," Casimiro continued.
The donations will be distributed immediately by Foster Forward, getting to the children who need them before the holidays.
