Sports Roundup: Girls’ Volleyball Tonight, Football Tomorrow

In sports action, the girls' volleyball squad hosts Tiverton tonight, and football hosts Middletown tomorrow.

The girls’ volleyball team will look to maintain their early season success against Tiverton tonight. Junior varsity starts at 4:15 p.m., followed by varsity at 6 p.m.

The varsity (3-1, 3-1 Division II-South) won earlier this week at Barrington (4-2, 3-1 Division II-South), in an early test for both teams.

The previous week, Narragansett lost 3-1 to Exeter-West Greenwich, which is traditionally the strongest team in the division. The Scarlet Knights are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Division II-South play, and have only lost two sets all year.

Last week, the Mariners . However, the win didn’t impress voters for the Rhode Island Sports Media Football Poll.

Narragansett received five points, well short of the 25 received by the No. 20 and last ranked team, Moses Brown. The top-ranked Division III team is Rogers at No. 13. Middletown received 17 points, meaning a win could propel them into the Top 20.
