This Weekend: Super Dog Adoption Day, Courthouse Gallery Opening and More

SK Democratic Committee Meeting: At 10 a.m. this and the first Saturday of each month, the South Kingstown Democratic Committee will meet at Bagelz, located at 90 Pershing Avenue in Wakefield. All are welcome to stop by to see what the Committee is all about!

Super Dog Adoption Day: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, Always Adopt will host a Super Dog Adoption Day at Clark Farms, located at 2984 Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry Highway (Rt. 1) in Matunuck. There will be more than 170 sweet, gentle dogs and puppies for same-day adoption (with a pre-approved application). Click here for complete details about the event and application process. 

Courthouse Gallery Opening: On Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m., the Courthouse Center for the Arts (2481 Kingstown Rd., West Kingston), will celebrate the opening of four new artists. In addition, a concert by Mark Cutler and his band Men of Great Courage will take place in the theater at 8 p.m. Concert admission is $12 per person, gallery is free. Community Flu Clinic: From 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Nov. 3, South County Hospital will host a local flu vaccination clinic at Peace Dale Congregational Church, located at 261 Columbia St., South Kingstown. Vaccinations will be available to individuals age 19 and older. Those with health insurance must bring proof of coverage. Click here for insurance and payment information.

Wakefield Jazz at The Contemporary: This and each Sunday from 2-5 p.m., The Contemporary Theater Company, located at 327 Main Street in Wakefield, will host "Wakefield Jazz Sessions". The weekly event invites local musicians to bring their instrument and jam with a house band and fellow jazz musicians. Cost is $5 per person. Click here to view the the event page on Facebook.
