This Weekend: Wandering with Wildlife, Family Mosaic Workshop and More

Mosaic Workshop: From 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, the South Kingstown Parks & Recreation Department (325 Columbia St., Peace Dale) will host a Small Mosaic Workshop for children and their parents. Instructor Ann Wohl will guide participants in creating unique mosaics with a family member or guardian utilizing a variety of colorful materials. $40 per adult/child pair. Wandering With Wildlife: At 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, Park Ranger Neil Anthes will lead a free leisurely bird walk throughout Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge (1040 Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd., South Kingstown). With fall migration coming to an end, the walk will provide great opportunities for participants to view uncommon visitors while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Dress appropriately and bring binoculars if you can. The walk will be canceled in the event of heavy rain and/or lightning. Click here for more info.

Community Flu Clinic: This Sunday, Nov. 10 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., South County Hospital will host a flu vaccination clinic at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church  located at 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Vaccinations will be available to individuals age 19 and older. Those with health insurance must bring proof of coverage. Click here for insurance and payment information.

URI Soccer: At 1 p.m. Sunday, the University of Rhode Island Men's Soccer team will face off against the University of Dayton Flyers at URI's soccer complex. Admission is free to the public. 

Wakefield Jazz at The Contemporary: This and each Sunday from 2-5 p.m., The Contemporary Theater Company, located at 327 Main Street in Wakefield, will host "Wakefield Jazz Sessions". The weekly event invites local musicians to bring their instrument and jam with a house band and fellow jazz musicians. Cost is $5 per person. Click here to view the the event page on Facebook.
