URI's Hillel Center to Host Holocaust Survivor Today (and 4 More Things)

    Holocaust Survivor Speaks at URI: Today from 2-3 p.m., the University of Rhode Island will host Alice Goldstein, a speaker for Rhode Island's Holocaust Education and Resource Center, who will share her childhood experiences in Nazi Germany. This free event will take place at URI's Norman M. Fain Hillel Center (6 Fraternity Circle) on Nov. 13. and is open to the public. Click here for more information.

    Walk-A-While Wednesday: From 12-1 p.m. today and each Wednesday through Dec. 4, URI's College of Human Science and Services in partnership with the Dept. of Kinesiology will host "Walk-a-While on Wednesdays".The new health initiative will be led by Kinesiology walking coaches who will guide participants through various mapped paths each session. The names of people who participate in at least eight sessions will be entered in a raffle for a free pair of sneakers from Feet First Quality Footwear.

    Afternoon Book Club: Today from 1-2 p.m., the Narragansett Public Library located at 35 Kingstown Road will host its Afternoon Book Club. This month's discussion will be based on the book, Wench by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk.

    Ballroom Dance Lessons: Tonight and each Wednesday evening year-round, The Towers in Narragansett offers ballroom dance lessons led by instructors Sara Barker and Sue Davis. Ballroom lessons are held at 6 and 7 p.m., Tango at 8 p.m., followed by an open practice for all from 9-10:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per person for Ballroom or Tango, or $22 per person for a full evening. Click here for more information.

    Tomorrow - Meet & Greet Open House: Tomorrow, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m., The Productive Connections Network is hosting a Meet and Green Open House event at Phil's Main Street Grille in Wakefield. Come meet and network with other business professionals in a relaxed atmosphere to share ideas and grow you business.
