As of about 1 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the region. Obviously, that has turned into a reality. Storms are expected to be a problem until about 9 p.m.

We’ve gotten reports of golf ball sized hail from our northern patch sites, and according to the National Weather Service, flash flooding and rain of two to three inches is possible.
I’m typing this from the South County Commons, where the lightning flashes are occurring every minute or so, but it hasn’t started raining as of 4:40 p.m. The CornBug and other outdoor shops are also closing for the day. (Sorry if you really, really needed that Del’s fix.)
