What's Open/Closed for New Year's in Narragansett, South Kingstown?

Whether you're heading out or staying in for New Year's, you may need to make an emergency trip into town. 

We've compiled a list of businesses and offices in town and their holiday store hours. If you know of more businesses that are open or closed, help out your fellow neighbors by leaving them in the comments

In observance of New Year's Day, municipal, state and federal offices will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014.

• Narragansett Public Schools are closed from Dec. 23 - Jan. 1 and will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2.

• South Kingstown Public Schools are closed from Dec. 23 - Jan. 1 and will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2.

• Narragansett Town Hall will close at noon New Year's Eve and be closed New Year's Day.

• South Kingstown Town Hall will be open regular hours New Year's Eve and be closed New Year's Day.

• Peace Dale Library and Kingston Free Library will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Robert Beverly Hale Library will be closed all day on Dec. 31.

• All locations of the South Kingstown Public Library will be closed New Year's Day. 

• Maury Loontjens Memorial (Narragansett Public) Library will close at 3 p.m. New Year's Eve and be closed New Year's Day.
  

Police and fire tax and records offices will be closed on New Year's Day, in addition to the U.S. Post Office.

Banks will be closed on New Year's Day - call your local branch for New Year's Eve hours.

For those who rely on public transportation, be aware that RIPTA is running on a holiday/Sunday bus schedule Jan. 1.
