Winter Storm Watch Issued For Parts Of RI: NWS

In a worst case scenario, close to a foot of snow could drop the northern part of the state, with lower amounts toward the coast.

NEWPORT, RI—Providence and Kent counties are under a winter storm watch starting Monday night, as the region's third nor'easter in three weeks moves up the East coast. According to the National Weather Service, the most likely prediction calls for snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. But that's still uncertain.

Newport, Narragansett and Bristol should see less snow and could escape entirely. Washington, Newport, and Bristol counties are under a hazardous weather outlook, with 2 to 4 inches possible Monday night into Tuesday.
