Five Rescued Off Block Island, Boat May Have Hit Whale
The US Coast Guard and Safe/Sea responded to the scene on Sunday.

NEW SHOREHAM, RI — A pleasure craft was towed into Point Judith on Sunday and five people were rescued at sea after a boat called "No Plans" struck an object about 10 miles off Block Island.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the people believe they struck a whale, but that detail has not been confirmed. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is investigating.

The people patched their boat and boarded a 45-foot Coast Guard vessel from Station Point Judith. Their vessel was towed to the mainland by Safe/Sea. There were no injuries reported.
