Plans For Block Island Race Week Regatta Moving Ahead

Early registrations are strong for the Storm Trysail Club event, and sailors are urged to reserve accommodations now.

NEW SHOREHAM, RI — Early registrations for Block Island Race Week are running strong, and participants are being urged to secure housing, docking, and ferry accommodations early, and not wait until the last minute.

Around 150 teams have already signed up for the big boat regatta, and that's the highest number of early registrations in over a decade.

"With increased vaccine rollouts and lower case numbers, we are cautiously optimistic that our 2021 event will be a great success," Event Chair Ray Redniss tells Sail-World. He says families and crews are eager to get back to doing what they love.

The 29th running of the biennial event is set for June 21-25, and full information can be found on the event website.
