Experiments in Theater, a North Kingstown-based youth theater company, will offer a 6-week theater program for young performers ages 8 and up beginning Tuesday, January 11th through February 15th from 6:30-7:30 PM at Konnect Dance Company in East Greenwich, RI.

The program, MORE Scenes from 1980's Films, will allow young actors to perform a scene from a well-known, age-appropriate, 1980’s film such as Space Camp, The Goonies, Back to the Future, Big, The Princess Bride, E.T. or the Muppet Movie. Actors will receive a copy of their scene, a character assignment, acting instruction, direction and will work in pairs or trios to rehearse their scene during class. All scenes will be memorized and a final performance will be recorded and shared with families.

The program is taught by Experiments in Theater Executive Director, Valerie Remillard, who has 30 years of training and experience in theater, voice, acting, directing and working with young performers. Experiments in Theater provides a challenging and supportive environment where young people can explore and exceed their creative potential. Remillard delivers an honest and supportive approach to training young actors that incorporates building confidence, collaboration, self-awareness, work ethic and professionalism.
