Here's Why Jack Was Shouted Out As A Star Student In North Kingstown
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts, or volunteer service. Here's one who is having an impact in North Kingstown.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Lorraine Vento who nominated Jack, an eighth grader from North Kingstown.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Jack is a kind and helpful young man. He is involved in sports year round, participating in flag football, soccer and most recently the wrestling program at Davisville Middle School. He was recently on the Honor Roll at Davisville also. Jack was chosen by his teachers to participate in the orientation program for incoming 6th graders, He also participated as an advocate for a student with newly acquired hearing aids. As a student that wears hearing aids, Jack was able to put that student at ease regarding the accommodations in the classroom for hearing impaired students. Most importantly, Jack is adored by his neighbors for his friendliness. He offers to assist neighbors with assorted tasks and makes it a point of visiting a neighbor that is dealing with cancer. She has told his parents that his visits brighten up her days.
