How Much Rain Fell In North Kingstown During Tropical Storm Henri

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Tropical Storm Henri made landfall in Rhode Island Sunday, slamming the state with heavy rain and high winds on Sunday and leaving tens of thousands of residents without power.

Southern Rhode Island, particularly along the coast, was hit the hardest by the storm. Henri made landfall near Westerly around 12:15 p.m., dropping nearly four inches of rain in the area.

North Kingstown didn't get nearly as much rain, but still got walloped by the storm's downpours. Measurements as of 8 a.m. Monday showed the town had 1.68 inches of rain, according to the National Weather service.
